Management

Nico Le Roux
Group Chairman

Nico performs the role of Financial Director within the Intergate Group and his back ground in tax and wealth management makes him ideal for specializing in business consultancy and high net worth financial planning. He has assisted many large corporations with setting up the appropriate structures and systems when opening their operations in South Africa, as well as working with a select client base for high end financial planning solutions.

Stuart James – Managing Director. Stuart is one of the Englishman in the Intergate Group having immigrated to South Africa in 2002.

Since the inception of Intergate he has carried out the roles of Client Manager, Client Relationship Manger and Marketing Director, so can claim to have experience right through the company. As the Managing Director his role includes marketing, product development and communications. He is passionate about providing our clients with complete immigration solutions and is always keen to receive feedback and suggestions from clients.

In his previous life in the UK, Stuart was a qualified Financial Planner and worked in Senior Management for The Royal London Group and Standard Life.
Rebecca Bowman – Rebecca is a qualified barrister from Ireland and her legal expertise stands her in good stead to fulfill her role as Director of Immigration. Managing our administrative team and ensuring the Intergate team is always fully briefed on the latest immigration regulations and developments certainly keeps her busy, however……she is often to be found at the local bowling alley honing her skills and enjoying some of Cape Towns finest wine.
Katrin Maja Maehl - Originally from Hamburg in Germany but now a permanent resident of South Africa, was one of the founding partners of Intergate Immigration and acts as Emigration Director.
Educated in Germany, Berlin she completed her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and after periods of work with SIEMENS and in the property industry chose South Africa, Cape Town as her new home.
Maike Reiner - Maike is Intergate's Financial Controller. We were delighted she returned to the Intergate fold after a highly successful internship in mid-2007. At University in her native Germany, Maike studied Economics and Business Administration and interned at a number of reputable multinational companies in addition to her part-time work at her University’s think tank for the study of entrepreneurship and innovation. After working as Intergate’s Office Manager for a year, Maike took over its financials in 2009. She is a paragon of efficiency, hard-work and affability, values she installs in her every day work and the administrative team.

Marketing and client communications

Claus Lauter - Claus is the Marketing Director and joined Intergate in March 2008. He has 25 years experience in hotel, consultancy and the IT industries and has worked for big co-operations like Johnson & Johnson, Reed Elsevier, Nikko, Mandarin Oriental and Kempinski Hotels. He also was an entrepreneur with his own IT Company for 7 years in Hamburg.

Having arrived in South Africa in April 2007, Claus is now passionately and as well as performing his role of Marketing Director also runs the Intergate sponsored Social and Business network – Cape Towns largest social network club with over 3,000 members and a gate way to meet business and personal contacts.
Wim Kenis – The mastermind behind our websites and client management system. Wim is a bachelor in Informatics and his career has seen him involved in a diverse range of products including building and developing a number of websites for our clients as well as back-end solutions. He started his career in 1994 and has a number of international projects that he completed up and running including software for labeling machines, large automisation projects, CMS systems and search engine optimized web sites.

Wim not just looks after The Intergate Groups websites but has completed a number of projects on behalf of our clients.

Wim and his wife Leen met with Intergate at one of our international fairs in Belgium and 6 months later he arrived together with his wife in SA and haven't regretted it ever since.

Our Client Management Team

Alex Berrai - Alex was born and raised in Germany and grew up in Germany and lived in the United States for two years where he attended High School. He completed his school at an Economic Secondary School in Germany and went on to study Policy and Management at the University of Constance in Germany. During his studies, Alex worked for a consultancy firm and was a candidate for the elections of state parliament. When he moved to South Africa, he joined us as an intern and started up his own company. He then re-joined Intergate Immigration as a Client Relationship Manager and is the first point of contact for our German speaking clients.
Bjorn van Niekerk - Bjorn is the client manger who assists South Africans returning home. Having spent some time in the UK himself he is aware of the challenges that face returning South Africans and their life partners or spouses.

Bjorn studied at Rondebosch and is an avid sports fan, even spending some time in the UK coaching cricket. A typically helpful and friendly South African his aim is to make your move back to South Africa as smooth as possible.
Mark Wilkes - Mark Wilkes has been supporting those clients from the United Kingdom and a growing number of other English speaking countries over the last years

Mark’s previous career and experience ensures that all the elements of a clients move are sensitively and professionally handled. Aware of the major change that clients face, his aim is to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Marcia Heidsieck - Marcia joined the Intergate team in January of 2009 and in her role as Client Manager she will be assisting all Dutch and Spanish speaking clients.

Marcia was born and raised in the Netherlands. She studied International Business Communication at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. Among other things she learned to speak Spanish there and during her time as a student she spent two lovely summers in Spain to improve her Spanish language skills.

After graduating Marcia worked for the ABN AMRO Bank and for Randstad. When her boyfriend got the opportunity to do his internship in South-Africa, she joined him. Since they both loved South-Africa, they decided to stay and now that they’ve both found jobs here they’re not planning on leaving anywhere in the near future!
Pia Henseler - Pia was born in Germany and grew up in Namibia and South Africa. She completed her schooling at the German International School in Cape Town and obtained a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours) from the University of Cape Town four years later. After completing her studies she went to Germany for two years where she used her time to work at the Daimler Chrysler Bank and travel Europe. She then decided to return to Cape Town and started work in the recruitment industry before joining our team at Intergate. She is currently focusing on all support services that the Intergate Group offers to make sure that you not only get the correct permit for South Africa but also expert advice on insurance issues, investment questions and property matters.

Our Corporate Team

Nicholas Hunt - Nick Hunt is the second English man in the team and heads up our Corporate Services Department for Intergate, dealing with individual and corporate clients. Nick, although based in Johannesburg also conducts business within the whole of SA - so no matter where you or your company are based he is on hand to assist you. Nick's previous background has been in the Financial Services and Insurance Industry in the UK, working for Winterthur Life UK Ltd before becoming a London Bank Manager for Nat West, Alliance & Leicester and Lloyds TSB. With a strong commercial expertise Nick decided to settle in South Africa's financial hub Johannesburg. Nick's travelling days have taken him to many countries throughout the world, from Laos to New York, also living and working in Australia for a year. His biggest love of South Africa is the National Parks. With Nick's professional background, sense of humour, drive and motivation he always finds a way to make it happen!
Monya Liebenberg - Our most recent addition to our Corporate team, who, as the Senior Administrator, will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of all applications for INTERGATE’s Corporate Clients. Monya comes to our Corporate Team from internal recruitment at INTERGATE. Her processes and procedures put in place in previous departments under her management has made her our first choice in continued efforts to provide our Corporate Clients with flawless service. She is a student of BCom Quantitative Management and her career to date has seen her work in the family owned business and financial services. She is a great believer in quality client service and the difference it makes it makes to providing fulfilling client experiences.
Joachim Schuckmann - Joachim is our Cape Town based Corporate Client Manager, and with his extensive experience in the administrative side of our business, it allows Joachim to quickly identify the needs and problems of companies, and in turn he is able to provide in-depth and practical solutions to our current and prospective corporate clients. His background in Organisational Psychology and Labour Law allows Joachim to empathise with the needs and stresses of our clients’ HR Departments, and so is best suited to ensure that Intergate’s corporate clients receive the kind of professional service they require.

His extensive experience in working with the Department of Labour and the Department of Trade & Industry as well as various South African embassies and consulates around the world, places Joachim in an ideal position to provide our clients and our administrative team with valuable feedback and advice.

Our Administration Team

Claire Roodman (Registered Immigration Practitioner) - Claire has been a member of the Intergate Team since February 2007. Claire studied at Montrose Business College, and so brings knowledge of travel and tourism, business administration, law and human resource management. Claire is a Registered Immigration Practitioner and is the Senior Administrator for Retired and Citizenship departments. Claire looks forward to meeting you and is always happy to assist you with questions regarding the immigration process.

Candice Le Roux - Candice joined the Intergate team in 2008 and has excelled in to the position of Senior Business Administrator. Candice studied Tourism Management at the Cape Peninsular University and this theoretical background has bolstered her suitability for her new post as a result of the fact that many business permit applicants are aspiring to set up companies in the tourism industry.
Michelle Thomas - Michelle is the friendly lady on the phone line, greeting all clients with a warm South African hospitality. She is always helpful and directs clients to the experts at Intergate Immigration in order to make sure that the client gets the best advice and service. During her career she has always been involved with people and will go the extra mile in order to assist the Intergate Immigration clients.

Charne Solomons - Charne was a born and bred in Cape Town and has joined the administrative team to assist with work permit applications. After completing her schooling, she attained a Business and Office Administration Diploma from Montrose Business College which she has put to great use in her job. She takes pride in her work and her energy and enthusiasm make her a valuable asset to the team.
Samantha Brown - Samantha has been with Intergate Immigration for almost two years, excelling in various positions, more specifically related to the process of work and corporate permits. During her time here, she has developed a keen interest and passion for assisting candidates in acquiring work permits in South Africa with an avid understanding and ever growing knowledge of the procedures within Home Affairs and the Immigration Act. Now heading the Work Permit Department, her motivation and ability to work under pressure in unpredictable scenarios is vital to the commitment of rendering the application process seamless to clients.
Natasha Goliath – UK Visa’s - Natasha Goliath started out in a completely different industry altogether – obtaining her degree in Hotel and Catering Management, with special knowledge in the organizing of conferencing and events. A two year trip to the UK had such a huge impact however, that on her return to South Africa, Natasha decided to help her fellow South Africans experience life abroad and the rest, as they say, is history.
Lauren Incorvaia - Lauren has been with Intergate since April 2009. She is a student of Kinesiology and has a Bachelors in the Science of Metaphysics. She is currently completing her Masters which will be followed by two doctorates in the same field. On a business orientated level she ran her own business from home for two years and is currently studying her N4 levels in Business Management & Entrepreneurship.

Lauren is currently assisting Candice in all immigration matters relating to the Business permits.

Our Home Affairs Team

Miche Michaels – Miche was one of the first employees to join the Intergate Team and has fulfilled a number of roles within Intergate during her time with the Group, culminating in her advancement to the role of Immigration Practitioner. Miche takes responsibility for the liaison with Home Affairs officials and is invaluable member of our team. Her hidden talents include a superb rendition of Celine Dion which she if often heard at team get togethers.

Gretta Jim - Gretta is one of the members of our international team. Her genuine character, her constant willingness to help and her eagerness to master new challenges distinguish her as a person and a colleague. As a native speaker of the Xhosa language, she is a great help while dealing with local authorities.
Miems Swanepoel (Registered Immigration Agent) - Although 71 years of age, she has the energy of a forty year old and is the fittest member of our team.

She provides invaluable experience in dealing with home affairs. With her calm nature she is the perfect person to deal with the respective Departments and their often bureaucratic ways of handling things.

Incompass Financial Solutions

Andrew Brotchie - Andrew heads up the investment team at Incompass. Andrew has an M.B.A. in International Management and extensive experience in business development in the investment industry both in South Africa and internationally. He was previously involved in initiatives in South Africa, the UK, the Channel Islands and the Far East, but is pleased to be back in South Africa and helping our clients make the most of their savings and pensions.
Jan Wink - Jan has visited many countries during his "younger"; travelling days, picking up a wealth of experience in the tourism and insurance industries. Heading up the insurance department of our sister company "Incompass", he will be able to help with any queries regarding commercial and personal insurance (such as buildings, contents and cars). Jan has studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce.

The current market situation regarding insurances is rapidly changing and with his commitment to continuing his studies, Jan is always up to date and able to give the best advice in terms of risk cover.
Fiona Flügel - Fiona is a member of the taxation & accounting team. She is the expert unravelling all your international taxation matters. She will tell you how to avoid unnecessary double taxation and will assist you so that you can have peace of mind, being legal in all aspects of business, inheritance, investments and much more. Being qualified as an attorney under German Law, she specialises in International Tax Law. She graduated as a Master of Laws from the University of New South Whales (Australia).

Finally Fiona was "imported" by her South-African boyfriend to Cape Town where she is now enjoying the pleasures of fresh air, unspoilt beaches and the cultural sea foods.

Cindy Alfino – Cindy is the office manager for Incompass Insurance and her team are able to help clients with areas such as medical insurance, car and house insurance and commercial insurance. Her ethos is service, service, service and she is always there to lend a helping hand, sort out a query or provide help and advice.
Belinda - Belinda makes sure that everything in the Incompass Investments office runs as smoothly as possible. She is well organised and vibrant, and always willing to go that extra mile to make sure that your investments are administered properly. Her professionalism with regards to customer service is an in-built passion and is part of her character. Belinda aims to excel in everything she does and is an invaluable asset to Inompass and, hopefully, to you as well.
Lizanne Pitt – Lizanne is the Claims and Renewals Administrator for Incompass Insurance. And is often the voice on the end on the end of the phone for Incompass. Being half Dutch and half South African she speaks Afrikaans, English and German.

SA Homebuyers and Relocation Services

Marco Garuti – Marco is from Italian / Portuguese descendency and has lived in South Africa from age 6 and completed his tertiary education here. With a financial planning background and extensive experience in property purchasing transactions and relocation issues, Marco has intimate knowledge of the local property market and the ‘’settling in issues’’ that make for the ingredients of a successful move.

With a passion for property, good vision for property improvements and clear understanding of demand, supply and location, he helps to ensure our clients get the right property, at the right price, in the right area as well as considerations such as schooling and settling in.
